Overall, I enjoyed the apartment. It's ideal for a single or couple, and very usable for a small family. It's located in a great area. Echterdingen has most of what people need (supermarkets, twice-weekly farmer's market, restaurants, Media Markt, Obi, public transportation, etc.). The apartment is within a short walk to the S-Bahn (S-2/S-3) and the U-Bahn (U-6). Several bus routes run through town. You have close access to the Autobahn (A-8), but you're far enough away to hear the road noise. Most of what you need is walkable (Getränkemarkt, Lidl, Aldi, multiple bakeries, town center, restaurants). For Americans, it is a short drive to Patch or Kelley (Patch is easily accessible by public transportation). Though the apartment is on the third level above ground, the inside elevator grants direct access to the apartment. You get four balconies, two of them are roomy enough for a small patio table and grill. The combination living and dining room is quite spacious. You also have access to a 10 square meter storage room in the basement, with a real door (not a wooden gate). The apartment is allocated one underground parking space (an actual parking space, not one of those shared "lift-o-matic" things).

Underground parking: Small SUVs, like a Ford Escape or Toyota RAV4 will fit with some maneuvering; however, you might be challenged to park a large SUV, like a Ford Explorer or Toyota Tundra.

Overall, I thought it was a great apartment for my needs. Having direct elevator access was very convenient for carrying things from the car. Underground parking is great for protecting your vehicle from the elements. The location enabled me to easily commute to work via public transportation (Make good use of that Deutschland Ticket). Everything I needed I could walk to. It's quieter than living in downtown Stuttgart (and I can still easily get there with the S-Bahn or U-Bahn). It was a great home for my five years here.

Super central at Downtown Echterdingen with 2 min walk to S-Bahn “Echterdingen”+ Bus station , all shopping (Aldi, Rewe,Toom, Deichmann, Netto, DM, Obi, Fitnesscenter, Drinks market, etc) and fine restaurants/beergarden 5 minutes!
Direct access to Autobahn A8/ B27/ Messe/ Airport
